Karolina Mackiewicz

Karolina Mackiewicz is a Policy Fellow at the Institute for Data, Democracy & Politics (IDDP) at the George Washington University. Before joining IDDP, Karolina served as Director of Policy and Engagement at the Portulans Institute, where she led research and project management for the Network Readiness Index and supported work on digital transformation and AI governance. She previously served as an International Trade Specialist at the U.S. Department of Commerce, where she worked on digital trade and emerging technology policy across Sub-Saharan Africa. Karolina holds an M.A. in Political Economy and International Affairs from Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a B.A. in Political Science and French from Brooklyn College, City University of New York.
