International Forums on the Harms of Social Media Disinformation

This online event, the first in a series hosted by the George Washington University’s Institute for Data, Democracy, and Politics (IDDP), highlights the false, misleading and dangerous social media content in the U.S. and around the world, as well as how social media platforms fail to rein in such hazardous content, allowing it to spread widely.

Featuring leading policymakers from the U.S. and around the world, the forum provides an opportunity for legislators to discuss the consequences of digital platforms’ misinformation negligence with real people who have been directly harmed.
